September and October 2024 Studio News

David Wrong

Welcome to the September /October issue of Studio News!  The last 2 months have been quite eventful for the The Underground Studio and it’s various projects.

Early in September, the What Doth Rumble Music festival took place in White River unction,

Vermont and Underground Studio owner and engineer, Vincent Freeman, was on hand to assist with the live sound for the event.  It was a wonderful mix of various musical attractions and was comprised of 20 bands, 2 stages and 7 workshops.  The workshops included, but were not limited to instruction on mixing music, creating animated video, songwriting and tuning your guitar.  Admission was free and there were food trucks and vendors.  Click here to see the video playlist of the event: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAdkf9ugxof7sl2By2z096aVU29KeQjGh&si=KuqC4aZ2yMjKoNzM

Released at the end of August (yes, it just barely missed inclusion in the last edition of Studio News) was the new Ep by Shiny New Toyz, Out to Get You.  This new release features a mix of metal styles and ferocious yet melodic vocals.  It also features equally ferocious yet melodic distorted guitar sounds.  Out to Get You contains a trio of hard-hitting tunes with complex arrangements and heavy subject matter as one could guess by their individual titles “Madness”, “Lunacy” and “Chaos.”

In September, local singer songwriter, Breanna Elaine released an official video for her song, Where The Snakes Live, a song written in response to an overdose death of a close friend. The video is a powerful cautionary tale, filled with entrancing, yet unsettling imagery. The song was engineered by Vincent Freeman at Bow Thayer’s Woodshed Studio.  You can view the video here.  Where The Snakes Live (Official music video)

Breanna has recently been struggling with some serious medical issues, which has become a hardship due to her status as a full-time musician.   In response, the musical community has come together to support her and to help cover her medical costs.  Here is a link to her gofundme page.  Fundraiser by Breanna Thompson : Help Breanna Overcome Hospital Challenges

Also, during the last 2 months, Brian Dade released 2 new albums Green Mountain Blue and Over the Fields and Under the Skies. These two albums contain memorable stripped down acoustic guitar riffs and heartfelt vocals. Dade's lyrics and music paint a rustic picture of the state of the world and human relationships through nature and allegory.
