Jason Baker - Live from The Underground

The Live from the Underground (LFTU) performance series continues this Thursday with a

performance by Burlington singer-songwriter Jason Baker. The 6pm performance on Thursday, March 11th will be live-streamed digitally on Facebook and followed by an interview with LFTU co-host Jamie Gage.

A songwriter and performer who has dedicated himself to the craft for the last several years,

Mr. Baker has been prolific recently, having released three solo CDs in the last three years:

“America Dreams” (2018), “Common Man Blues” (2019) and "The Lighthouse" recorded last year. Additionally, in October 2020, Jason released an album of traditional and public domain folk songs with his mentor, Vermont folk troubadour Rik Palieri, entitled "Folk Talk: A Guide to Traditional Folk Music Volume One".

Nominated for the 2019 New England Music Awards Nominee for "Best in Vermont", Mr. Baker will be playing and discussing his socially conscious music from his growing canon, but especially from “The Lighthouse” which speaks to the current situation in the U.S., and the world.

“There is an immediacy to the reality that we are living in a science fiction story come true right now,” says Mr. Baker. “And my prerogative through my writing is to examine the path that got us here, so that maybe we can talk about our path out.”
