Discavus - Live from The Underground

The Underground - Recording Studio in downtown Randolph, Vermont continues its Live from the Underground (LFTU) performance series this Thursday by welcoming the instrumental and funk-fusion group Discavus from Rutland, Vermont. The 6pm live performance on Thursday, February 411h will be livestreamed digitally on Facebook and followed by an interview with LFTU co-host Jamie Gage.

The trio, who are also the backing core for both the Krishna Guthrie Band as well as the Kris Collett Band, will appear at The Underground to showcase their superlative instrumental chops. With comparisons to the great fusion keyboardist George Duke and the luminary jazz drummer Billy Cobham as well as the groove-based funk of Vulfpeck, Discavus redefines the fusion genre by bringing to life pieces new and old in a fresh new context for the modern audience.

“From the very beginning our goal has been to bring the music industry back to the musicians,” says their Facebook page. “We don't need producers and million dollar ad campaigns to make you dance. Between us we bring over 44 years of combined musical experience to the table and use every second of it to provide our audiences with a truly unique musical journey from the first downbeat to the last.”

To learn more about Discavus, check out the group’s Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/discavus.

Thursday's performance will be a ticketed event with 50% of the proceeds going to the artist and 10% to Chandler Center for the Arts.
